As the year winds down, we’re getting closer to seeing more 2022 models, and the Chevy Equinox is one vehicle we’re very excited to see. We already have some enticing details about this Chevy SUV, including its all-new RS trim that can come with black upholstery, red stitching, and a blacked-out exterior.

Visit Lester Glenn Chevy of Freehold to learn what else you can expect from the 2022 Chevy Equinox.

Power and Performance

Unlike previous models, the 2022 Chevy Equinox will only have one engine option: a turbocharged 1.5-liter, four-cylinder unit that generates 170 horsepower and 203 lb.-ft. of torque. This is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, but all-wheel drive is available as an option.

Another addition for this new model is improved handling. One thing that hasn’t changed, however, is its excellent gas mileage: 26 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway.

Tech and Safety

If you want an SUV outfitted with many advanced tech features, you’re in luck. The new Chevy Equinox comes with a user-friendly infotainment system with a seven-inch touchscreen (an eight-inch model is available as well).

Other standard features include:

  • Bluetooth® connectivity
  • Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration
  • 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot
  • USB ports

This SUV also comes with many standard safety components, including lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, and lane keep assist. Adaptive cruise control and automatic park assist can be added as well.
