The Chevy Equinox has been a top-rated compact SUV for many years. Its enduring popularity makes perfect sense once you realize that it just gets better every new one comes out. This year’s model is no exception. Lester Glenn Chevrolet of Freehold has the details on the 2025 Chevy Equinox and how it compares to the 2024 model.
Power- and Drivetrain
The 2024 and 2025 Chevy Equinox models both have the same 175-horsepower turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine. However, while the 2024 model had a standard six-speed automatic transmission, that has changed. Now, models with front-wheel drive get a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT), and those with all-wheel drive get an eight-speed automatic.
Tech Features
The 2025 Chevy Equinox has many notable changes when it comes to tech. It now features an 11-inch digital gauge cluster and an 11.3-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system. This is a 4.3-inch increase over the 2024 model. The 2025 model also comes with built-in navigation using Google Maps. Standard features for both model years include wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, a Wi-Fi® hot spot, and satellite radio.
Safety Systems
The Chevy Equinox can always be counted on to help augment your safety. Both the 2024 and 2025 models have forward automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, and lane-keeping assist. However, the 2025 Chevy Equinox adds adaptive cruise control with lane centering.
